My Personal thoughts about Blendzall Oil.
Blendzall is not just a 2 stroke oil. Blendzall Castor is also the ultimate "top end lube" for a four stroke. Even with space age technology, castor is still the best lubricant on earth. Castor actually migrates towards hot spots in your engine. And yes, it has that racy smell. Myself, ex ported RZ350 owner, currently 2005 Ninja 250 owner, and my riding bud on his Hayabusa, both run an ounce of "Blends all" in our tanks at fill up.(+300:1) We both found it quite common when another rider smells this fuel/exhaust and says "wow are you running racing gas ?". Or the equally popular "are you running that thing on nitro?". Or the ever common, "wow that exhaust smells good". Being ex 2 stroke nuts, we find we could never shake the fix we get from smelling this stuff.
It's not just the smell! I have rebuilt a few top ends in my day on various 2 strokes. New pistons and bores started to become an every other season ritual due to lots of thrashing.. I can say this much, my engines quit exploding when I found decent oil. Me and the guy with the busa had enough of doing top ends on the water buffalo and the rzed, so we went 4t. Blendzall went with us. Over the years I started a bit of non scientific shade tree testing of these oils. The little 2005 Ninjerrr, Busa, Lawnmower and anything with an engine we have, has "blendzoil" in the fuel. I have some shade-tree examples of the miracle of this oil. And no, this is not another Amzoil style dealer rant. I think what I have to say about this oil holds a bit of substance.
Latest Blendzall Experiment: Before winter set in I pushed an old running lawn mower out back in the middle of the back yard. A four stroke mower. I filled it with 50:1 Blendzall Racing Castor Premix. Mower started on second pull and was allowed to run 2 minutes. Mower was killed by choke. The mower was left outside with no shelter in the middle of the back yard all fall and winter. November Thru February. During this time the mower engine was often buried in 2 feet of snow. The mower went through quite a few nasty ice storms, blizzards and major rain downpours. The poor old thing has been through a nasty Nebraska fall and winter directly in the elements. Might as well have been underwater in a bog for months. It's now February and time to TRY to start the mower. No change of gas or any tinkering of any kind allowed. No using choke! Nothing but pulling on the mower string exactly as it was left last year. THE THING STARTS ON THE THIRD PULL! And that's not all. This mower does not have oil in the crankcase! Never did. It always leaked out. I guess you could say since it does not hold crankcase oil I converted it to a two stroke. I have been waiting for it to blow. One thing I also forgot to mention. I have been mowing my yard with this mower for 2 seasons now with no oil in the crank case. The only engine oil this 4 stroke engine is getting is Blendzall in the fuel. I have 40 plus hours on this engine like this and it still has not went POP! How could it have survived this long? My theory is, once vaporized, fuel/blendzall has made it's way into the crankshaft area. Only a very fine mist of oil in the fuel is keeping engine parts alive that are supposed to be soaked in oil. Perhaps only a few drops have seeped in and are keeping things alive. I think it's safe to say a few drops of oil here and there have been doing the job of a quart for many, many, many hours of operation.
Update: may 3-10-08, More hours on this mower mowing thick tall grass and she still has not exploded. It starts to knock and smoke under heavy load but recovers soon after. Crankcase is bone dry. Perhaps the rings are past clearance and seeping blendzall fuel oil mixture to the rod and crank. Something is keeping it going and it's not 4 stroke oil.
UPDATE 5-17-08!!! It finally went pop. Here is how it went down. Today I decided to mow the yard. Started on the first pull as usual. After warmup I was mowing grass. I noticed no knocking or excessive smoke. The only thing I did notice that was not usual was smoke coming out of the crankcase breeter tube. It was 2 stroke smoke. I found this odd but thought it seemed to prove that plenty of two cycle oil was getting in the crankcase of this four stroke running without oil. The smoke out of this little tube started to increase as I mowed. Right when I was through mowing my huge lawn pushing the mower down the sidewalk it started lightly clunking. I ran for cover but wanted to see it konk out. When I got about 20 feet away from the mower it went "PLONK!". Directly after this abrupt noise 2 large pieces of metal came out of the side of the mower at slow speed landing 3 feet away. After this the little engine continued to spin for a good 15 seconds. When it stopped I walked over to the motor to see that there was a hole in the side of the crankcase the size of a big fist. What shot out the side? She threw a rod. LOL
I may just pop head and cyclinder off to see the condition of the bore. I am curious to see the condition of piston and liner before I toss the entire heap in the bin.

Amazing how this engine lasted with 30+ hours operation without oil.
Believe what you want but it's fairly obvious that 2 stroke oil keeps fuel stabile. It coats the innards of stuff and keeps the goo and rust off. Both the Busa and Ninja fortified with Blendzall were started this winter at sub zero temps to prove the same point. Easy start, fire to life immediate on everything. The engines all start like they are warm with 4 month old gas. Funny I think as I watch other bike owners crank away at their machines trying to get them to fire up cold. No need for "Stabil" fuel stabilizer when you have Blendzall IMO.
Another claim: I was a gardener for almost a decade. Always put the cheap oil in the trimmers. One day the cheap puke oil ran out, so the trimmers were filled with Blendzall premix. I noticed right away. The trimmers were hitting extreme high rpm with ease. It was like the crankshaft was now half the weight. My ear dyno was telling me the trimmers were getting at least 2500 more rpm up top. It really was amazing. The trimmer (Kawasaki Brand) was pulling such high rpms I thought it may self destruct. We ended up going back the cheap oil in these trimmers, and once again I watched as the performance went way down. Note: Premix ratio was not altered to cause lean jetting to produce crisper response and higher rpm. The same ratio was used.
So in closing you see how my claims involve everything from a 4 stroke lawn mower with no oil to a Muzzy powered fuel injected Hayabusa. I am not making bold claims of improved horsepower for anything. But, I feel my testing and experience does show significant positive results about this product. It smells like the racetrack, it keeps things from blowing up that should have exploded 40 hours ago. It's obviously a great fuel stabilizer and corrosion and gunk inhibitor. No snake oil salesman here. I made this page simply out of the love for this oil. My wife tells me "you better quit doing this, that mower is going to explode at your feet". My response? "No it won't honey, there is Blendzall in there".
Disclaimer: Don't try this at home. Running engines without oil is dangerous. If you plan to use 2 cycle oil as a "top end lube" on a 4 cycle engine, mix at 300 to 1 ratio. Too much oil in the fuel can mess with "jetting" and cause deposits. The views and opinions expressed on this page are in no way affiliated with the company Blendzall. I am just a fan that used to smell Blendzall at the Kart track when I was a kid. Just about every motor sports enthusiast has an oil story to tell and this has been mine. Also keep in mind I am also a true fan of Klotz. But that is another page....
